Thank you to everyone who came to Prayer in the Park

Third Annual Prayer in the Park is Sunday, June 2, 2019

"Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together" (Ps 34:3 NIV). Prayer in the Park is an opportunity for all Christians in Waterloo Region to connect in one place and seek the Lord together for renewal in the church and the inhabitation of God's Spirit in our Region. Please join us at Prayer in the Park and together we will "Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name" (Ps 29:2 NIV) and "Look to the Lord and His strength" (1 Chr 16:11 NIV).

God is at work in Waterloo Region. Please pray continually for His will to do be done here, as we let Him speak to our hearts to lead us and renew us. Pray that God will equip us for works of service until we reach unity in the faith, and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (see Ephesians 4:11-16).

What's Prayer in the Park All About?

God's call to draw His people together is clear throughout Scripture. We see it through the feasts, sacred assemblies, and times of renewal, even in the early church. Connecting in one place refreshes us and renews and reminds us we are part of the one body of Christ and God is with us. Connecting in one place is not unity, rather it is an encouragement that we already have unity. We must continually make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit, so that we can become the mature body of Christ. We are meant to be connected. We are the supporting ligaments joining the body of Christ and holding it together, as we grow and are built up in love, and each part does its work.

Habitation by God

God is doing many great things here in Waterloo Region. Praise the Lord! We believe He has even more in store for us. Recently, I have been challenged and encouraged to pray not just for a visitation, but a Habitation from God. We do not want simply a season of change, but a lasting renewal.

Other Regional Prayer Initiatives

2+2=More... Prayer Link
More Unity, More Power, More Impact

The goal of the 2+2=More Prayer Link is to have every church praying for two other churches and have two churches praying for them. In 1 Corinthians 12, the Apostle Paul exhorts us that all the parts of the body should have equal concern for each other. Praying for each other is a simple and yet powerful way for churches to show concern for the other parts of the body. As we cover each other in prayer, we can expect to see more unity among churches, more of God’s power at work in our midst, and more impact for God’s glory on our Region. Each church will have the opportunity to provide two simple, yet specific ways the other churches can pray for them.

Waterloo Region Prayer Drive
Every Church praying for the same thing at the same time, expecting God to answer.

The goal of the Waterloo Region Prayer Drive is to coordinate as many churches as possible to take a set period (likely a month) of focused prayer all praying for the same regional needs and seek God for a breakthrough. Once the group of churches participating is established, representatives will go to the Regional Police and ask them what they see as the greatest needs in the Region and that is what we will pray for. The timing of the Prayer Drive will be established when the churches and prayer requests are in place. During the Prayer Drive, each church is free to pray for the requests as you see fit within your regular services, prayer meetings, and personal prayer times.
